this is the greatest word learning book ive ever seen, im a teenager and before bed i glance at a word and read the tips on how to remember it and ITS STUCK in my mind!!when reading books i can point out difficult words that i know because of the book...A MUST BUY if you want to increase your vocabulary and do good on the english part of your sats
"500 SAT words and how to remember them forever" is probably a guarantee to score well on the SAT (verbal part). Ive never seen a book which teaches you words in such a funny way. Its fun to learn the 500 words, and it doesnt take a lot of time! And you wont forget those words! Im from Germany and English isnt my first language, and even I am able to learn those 500 words, and thats saying something!! If you want to build a strong vocabulary or improve your grades or prepare for the SAT, this book should be your 1st choice!
I found this slightly unorthodox way of learning vocabulary words to be entertaining and practically painless. My children (8th and 5th graders)and their Gifted and Talented Program teachers have been enthusiastic about using the book. I especially appreciate the authors humorous treatment of this compilation of words likely to be tested, and the fact that he has updated the book periodically to keep pace with changes in the SAT. I would recommend it for any student-in school or not- interested in expanding his or her vocabulary.
