Acting: The First Six Lessons. > Customer Review #1:
A Classic. Deceptively Simple; Unutterably Profound

Copyrighted in 1933, "Acting" has proved to be a mainstain for actors and directors alike. However, Boleslavskys book is not only for performers, but for writers, artists, and all individuals who want to enhance their creativity. It teaches one to think, see, feel, evaluate, and take action.

Only 134 pages long, Boleslavskys book contains a lifetime of knowledge. In addition, written in a dialogue between "I" and "The Creature," its an easy read.

Acting: The First Six Lessons. > Customer Review #2:
Attn True Actors:Please Read This Book

Basic acting ideas and questions are explained very simply in this remarkable book. Although the technique he uses may be odd, (refering to a fictional dialogue between himself and The Creature), it enhances the reading into an art form, not just a textbook or book full of "improv" excercises. If you are a true student of the art, I think you will enjoy this book, if not at least appreciate its value. Otherwise go back to Utas Object Excercises!

Acting: The First Six Lessons. > Customer Review #3:
An Actors Best Buy

I just finished reading this book as a part of an acting class, and I highly recommend that anyone with an interest in acting check out this book. Its an amazing resource. Boleslavsky shares from his amazing wealth of knowledege of the stage, and it would be foolish not to take advantage of the knowledge provided here.
