The catalogue
The catalogue is arranged the way it has always been arranged: sixteen subject sections, from General and Architects A-Z through Architectural Standards, Building Types & Styles, Drawing & Modelling and Historic Preservation, out to Landscape, Materials, Project Planning & Management and Urban & Land Use Planning. Each section opens onto the titles filed under it; each title has its own entry.
An entry carries the title, the author line, the release date, the binding and the ISBN, set on a spine plate so a run of entries reads like a shelf seen edge on. Where readers left notes on a title, those notes are printed under the entry. Titles are also listed alphabetically in the Title Index, a page for each letter, which is the quickest way to reach an entry when you already know what you are looking for.
Entries are indexed by title and by ISBN. To find a title, open the subject section it belongs to or the Title Index letter it begins with.
Sixteen sections
Each section below opens with its own band and shows the first titles filed under it; the section page carries the rest. The order of the sections is the order they have always been listed in, from General at the top to Urban & Land Use Planning at the foot.
Titles that sit outside these sixteen subjects are not shelved under a section and are reached through the Title Index instead.
