Double Crossing Extraordinaire
This is one of those plots where you know the whodunit long before you reach the ending. But, the strenght of this thriller is not on the whodunit but on the clever plot line with its twists and turns on the two main characters: Catherine and Bobby. Are you to believe the two are really telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? The motives for each and every action is chronicled in detail by both Catherine and Bobby. Just when you thought, ah yes, I believe you Catherine, then again maybe not, I trust Bobby more, then it goes again, your belief and trust vascillate between Bobby and Catherine.
lt;br /gt;
lt;br /gt;The investigative team of DD and Copley do a probing analysis on the various options available that can be exploited by both Catherine and Bobby. To top it all off, the ending for most thrillers usually end in a murmur, for this it ends with a trumpet call as your adrenalin is set on a very high as there is a very dramatic twist at the end. Very original and highly suspensful ending to a superb thriller!

Riveting Plot, Characters, and Writing
Alone was captivating, immediately drawing me in to Bobby Dodges work as a police sniper in a hostage situation, then keeping me with Dodge as he dealt with the aftermath of his actions. The author ties several plotlines together - the investigations into Dodges actions, the pedophile who kidnapped Catherine decades earlier, and the conflict between Catherine and her in-laws who are fighting for custody of Catherines child. That these seemingly unrelated stories are so well linked is a testament to the authors skill. I cant wait to read the authors next novel.

I know when a mystery is getting to me. It is when I get so nervous that I have to keep putting the book down. I had to put down Alone several times because the story scared me half to death. Thats why I loved it! Deliciously terrifying!!!!!! Oooooh! Eeeeeek!
